Writer’s block is a phenomenon that affects everyone. Know what you want to say but forgotten how to express it? Just can’t remember what this word means?

Writing Aid can relieve this frustration. Instantly search for definitions and synonyms just like a standard dictionary. However, Writing Aid can also find words when you search for meanings. So a search for green blue color returns suggestions like turquoise or aquamarine. Similarly, typing inventing new things returns words such as candelabra and sconce.

These words share the same meaning but make your writing more sophisticated and more elegant.

You wouldnt want to write on your iPhone, but that doesn’t mean your iPhone can’t help you write.

No ads. No fuss. Just the words.

With iOS 8, Writing Aid can also be added to the Today view, as a Word of the Day widget. Be inspired every day with a new word to expand your vocabulary.

Pros and cons of Writing Aid — Dictionary & Word of the Day widget app for iPhone and iPad

Writing Aid — Dictionary & Word of the Day widget app good for

Thank you!! This is such a wonderful app!! Its the best dictionary/thesaurus pluse a whole bunch of other stuff combined!! Its the only word search app anyone will need on there phone!!!
I enjoy this app a lot. I remain puzzled by occasional discrepancies between the definition given by the widget vis-à-vis that given by the main app. Were appending a half star possible, this app would be an easy 4.5. Recommended.

Some bad moments

Writing Aid gets right to the point of efficiently producing the definition one is searching without all the extraneous clutter surrounding the common, online dictionary format. So, if you are not necessarily requiring the pronunciation guide, nor obscure etymological references, and just want to get the job done, I would suggest using this handy, straightforward reference resource.
Writing Aid is the impressive writing tool that Ive been searching for! Its simple, fast, and has a clean UI that matches iOS 7s design. And it has a great looking icon!
Just what I wanted to look for words/synonyms. No tweaks, fluffs. Minimal and essential.
The interface is nice, but Id prefer an iPad version for my use.
No complaints thus far. The interface is great. The only thing missing is an iPad version.
This is a very easy app to use and it always comes up with just the word you need. This app should be in everybody’s writing arsenal of apps. Don’t know how Benjamin did it, but it works very well and priced right, too! :-D
